Why Kalispell, MT, Is The Best Winter Getaway

Kalispell is a gem of a mountain town in Northwest Montana, centered with a picturesque downtown and surrounded by natural beauty. With neighbors Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River, recreational prospects are myriad. The winter season, when a blanket of snow wraps the landscape, delivers its own unique charms, as I discovered while on a recent media trip sponsored by Discover Kalispell.

During my visit, I snowshoed in Glacier National Park (so peaceful), drove a snowmobile for the first time (harder than it looks), and made friends with the docile Clydesdale horses who pulled our sleigh.

Read all about it in my story, 6 Fantastic Winter Experiences in the Beautiful Mountain Town of Kalispell, Montana, as published in TravelAwaits.com, the premier website for the 50+ traveler.

Here I am in snowshoes along a peaceful trail in Glacier National Park.
